I'm not quite willing to subscribe to a newspaper just to get one review.

His site seems to say he'd have no trouble sending a review of a book to the book's author, especially if he'd liked it.

Unfortunately, the site has a relatively secure paywall, and my PrintHack and ProxySwitch techniques have failed to breach it's defenses. That said, there was a $1.99 "one day pass" option way down the paywall options list.
