... a pretty long discussion on what I gather is a discussion board devoted to a game on how the game's alien species would react to being dropped into The Arena!

Reading it I think it stays pretty reasonable and on-target, although the participants seem to underestimate the Arena's willingness to enforce ITS view of "fair". For instance, if I understand the description they give of the "Zerg", they'd probably end up severely crippled by some minor tweak to the rules, because the Arena wouldn't want them munching their way through the sky.

I think you're probably right about the Zerg, from the bits of StarCraft I've played.

(Not all the aliens being discussed are from a single game, in case you didn't recognise enough names to pick that up: people are basically just chucking in whatever alien races come to mind, from a variety of sources. Apart from StarCraft, the sources I recognise include the Halo games, the Mass Effect games, the Culture novels by Iain M. Banks and the Xeelee novels by Stephen Baxter.)

Oh, that's me who started it :)

Yea, it's always a challenge to get this bunch to not loophole the rules... which doesn't work so well when a force actively closes loopholes!

Yea, it's pretty clear the creators had *something* in mind, even if what I'm not exactly sure ^^

Opening loopholes? Interesting...
