It occurs to me that the Vengeance in your Grand Central Arena books would understand Lovecraft's view. It's not that far from their own.

Except that they think they can fight back.

Ah. But the Vengeance could be wrong. :-)

Though the existence of the Shadeweavers tends to argue against that.

I do wonder what their (the Vengeance) take on Lovecraft's ideas would be.

And I suspect the Faith's reaction would be utter horror.

BTW, you reminded m of when I first discovered Lovecraft. I think it was the same Ballantine collections that your first Lovecraft was part of.

Silly me, I once finished reading pone of them to realize that:
A. I was alone in an old house
B: it was a dark and stormy night
C: it was 1 am

needless to say I was utterly creeped out.
