You noticed, perhaps, that Bob has the initials BOFH - which is a reference to the Bastard Operator From Hell, a series of ultrashort stories about sysadmins who are not above a spot of murder. Google for them, you'll be entertained.

The BOFH's assistant is usually a PFY - Pimply-Faced Youth.

That should explain the title and initials of Pimpf reasonably well.

I didn't know the other set, so that does make some sense.
