I love Connolly's stuff; to my mind he is sadly under-known.

I agree; his work has never been less than excellent and is sometimes stellar.

I think he's partially a victim of circumstance; he got a *really* lucrative three-book deal for the Twenty Palaces books, but it was *too* lucrative -- as in, each of his books had to pull in solid five-figure royalties just to earn out. For a first-time author. We know how that story goes.

But I hope he'll see more success as time goes on; he writes really good stuff and he's shown an excellent range of flexibility as an author.
