Villains and Vigilantes lives again!

One of the first superhero RPGs (following "Superhero 2044"), Villains and Vigilantes was for many years my go-to supers RPG, despite certain flaws that needed fixing (and which we patched). One of several classic games released by FGU, it was one of my favorite games, along with FGU's "Space Opera".

However, when FGU effectively ceased operations, it still retained rights in the published material. It took a long time for this to be resolved.

But it has been, and now V&V Third Edition has a Kickstarter!

Neat. I recall MHG trying to get a revised second edition out and running into legal problems over the trademarks. Glad they got those resolved.

Cool. I had copies of both V&V and Superhero 2044 until a few years ago when they got ebayed to pay bills.

FGU (Scott Bizar) seems to have had (and still has) a bit of an "attitude" about things that the company published. If OTHER SUNS is ever put before the public again, I rather imagine that I'll take the rewrite and retitle it (I hold the copyright).

Yeah, I didn't want to get directly into those details; his issues in that area also kept Space Opera from ever being reprinted or expanded once FGU went under as a functional company. I *LOVED* Space Opera.

I just ran a check for current trademarks, and found that FGU has no registered trademarks, and more specifically, no one has a trademark for OTHER SUNS. Since FGU has no registered trademarks, I'd really be interested in how Bizar managed to convince a court that he (or the defunct FGU) had ANY claim to the Villains and Vigilantes "trademark".
