... what do I need to do in order to  move my communities over to Dreamwidth? Will I need to get a paid account?

(yes, I want to move Awakeningofmagi as well as rykspoor_beta -- I may not be using it at the moment, but there's some good and interesting stuff there and I don't want it going away)

The account creation page has options for both paid and free accounts. My account is free now and I've never had any problems with porting stuff over, though apparently you can't do crossposting unless one accepts the new terms of service. I don't know if you can import or not without doing that.

fwiw, i'm also the same name on dw. i'm planning on saving off my communities here and setting up mirrors there in the next couple weeks. already did so with my personal blog, so. i suspect i'm going to wind up deleting everything here when i get the dw all set up.
