I've had some people say "okay, Ryk, now that we see what's going on is it important to keep posting about Project 2025?"

The answer is "absolutely YES" and I'll explain why. First, for those who haven't seen my long writeup on 2025, here's the link.  Note that the ORIGINAL document is about 900 pages, and even my summary and high points commentary is something like 150.

Okay, now, WHY is it important to keep talking specifically about Project 2025, even though we're well -past the point where we can prevent someone (whose name begins with T and ends, appropriately, with RUMP) from initiating it?

Because there is, to a great extent, a tendency to FOCUS on that particular individual. Mr. Trump, who is now obviously in an advanced state of senility and/or dementia, is well known for doing all sorts of terrible, and sometimes apparently pointless, things because it appeals to his particular narrow and vicious view of the world.

This means that a lot of people still think, consciously or unconsciously, that if we could Just Get Rid of Trump that things would smooth out and get better.

This is absolutely not true, and Project 2025 is the direct and inarguable illustration of that fact.

In some ways, Trump was the ideal candidate for this, exactly because he DOES do ridiculous, exaggerated evil-billionaire stuff that draws (deserved) attention and fire upon him. The whole Epstein scandal -- vile and relevant though it is --, the razing of the Rose Garden, the rants about the evils of Hillary, Obama, Biden, etc., all of these are just beautiful, awesome smokescreens and distractors from the systematic, straightforward, unswerving destruction of our country's basic foundational mechanisms of government.

And this process is detailed in Project 2025. All of the SERIOUS choices that Trump is making were written down in Project 2025, and people like Voight and Stephen Miller have been literally handing Trump executive orders to sign in order to set all of it in motion.

This is not one man, or even one man's cult, wrecking our institutions. This is the culmination of a 50+ year deliberate plan, today best represented by the Heritage Foundation, but actually going back all the way to our old friends the KKK -- many of whom were involved in the creation of the Heritage Foundation and their related groups. This is their most desperate, focused, and grimly determined play to put the absolutely NOT-Christian "Evangelical Christian Nationalism" in place as the dominant and governmentally-enforced worldview.

"Desperate"? Yes, absolutely. The prime movers, the people driving this most, are OLD PEOPLE. They didn't like watching the Civil Liberties movement back when I was young, and possibly it was seeing Obama get elected that made them REALLY kick into high gear. Even within their own groups, raised by their own principles, they're weakening. This is their real, last chance to turn things around, make their own Fascist USA paradise where everyone's put in their proper place and where they can bring their nuclear Manifest Destiny -- maybe even Armageddon -- to reality.

This is why they've worked so hard to make inroads on young people -- especially young men, as various aspects of our society make them more easily vulnerable to some of their approaches. They NEED people who will carry their toxic work on once they all collapse of strokes, and they can see that right now, younger demographics are less and less accepting of their hateful points of view. The old clarion cry of "COMMUNISM" and "SOCIALISM" only rallies the older demographic; younger ones mostly say "meh" or even "yes, exactly!"

WHY this is so is of course deeply complex (and deeply socially pathological), but a lot of it is a mixture of (often deliberately) mistaught "Christianity", a misguided belief in rewards through labor, and an internal conviction that the world SHOULD be fair from a very particular point of view. Fully internalized, this worldview's VERY difficult to breach.

So Project 2025 remains relevant as a stark, inarguable reminder that what is happening IS NOT AN ABERRATION. This is not because we elected a sociopathic lunatic to the highest office in the land; this is because a very long-running and widely organized movement of people, currently spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation, USED the sociopathic lunatic because he was easily led. Trump's personal wants are shallow and easily met, and do not interfere with their goals -- and, as I said, his behavior is a perfect smokescreen, AND also makes Trump a usefully DISPOSABLE SCAPEGOAT by the end. If most people view TRUMP as the problem, they can get rid of him at the "opportune moment" to make the country breathe a (temporary and delusional, but useful) sigh of relief.

So I'll keep pointing to this quietly monstrous document and the evil it embodies until either I'm silenced or these people are finally kicked out.

...especially young men, as various aspects of our society make them more easily vulnerable to some of their approaches...

Also, because in Festung Amerika, it will be men running everything, so -- as long as they succeed -- the opinions of women don't matter to them.

Not even "men running things" -- it'll be the P7: the Pale Plutocratic Protestant Patriarchal Penis-People of Power. (Alas, I couldn't think of a word for "cisgender/straight" that begins with a P.)

But it's very specifically about a niche group. As the USA is very close to majority non-white/non-Protestant these days, it's well under 25% of the population who'll be making all the choices.
