Argh! I bought "Boundary" as an e-book the day that Howard Tayler mentioned it on his website, and loved it... suddenly tonight I thought about it, and I thought "Surely the sequel is out by now..."

Is it much longer? :)

... the first draft of Threshold is done (and has been read by those on my beta-reading list [community.livejournal.com/rykspoor_beta]). It's now waiting for Eric to do his "add stuff and edit stuff" pass, and then I have to do the "integrate writing styles" pass before it goes to print.

Eric will be adding substantial text (~40k) and chopping/changing some things (I know at least one scene that's completely disappearing).

In the meantime I'm hoping to get approval on my next solo work.

I submitted a request to join the beta reading community. I'm a third-year law student with an engineering and information systems background who loves hard sci-fi. Maybe I can be of some use?

If you keep the community limited to people you know well and for a long time, I'd understand, though. I've got the inside track on some webcomics, and my webcomic buddies don't just share their stuff with anybody.

I restrict it only to people who will comment on my stuff; other than that there's no real restrictions. You've been approved.

Note that "Hard SF" is only part of my output and not even my usual mode. :)
