Albacon Update...

The bad news is that Anne McCaffrey, the scheduled GoH, will not be able to attend. Apparently she isn't well (I don' t know the details) and thus taking a long flight to the States would be, well. stupid.

That's a big disappointment for me of course -- I really wanted to meet her in person -- and I'm sure it'll be a blow to a lot of congoers, many of whom probably won't find out until they get there. But, hey, *I* will still be there! :)

I did meet her in person -- many years ago, and she autographed my copy of (I think) The White Dragon. She was very gracious about chatting with me.

It's lucky that she wasn't the only reason I wanted to go to Albacon, or I would be devastated, rather than disappointed.

If I was back there , I would go there , sounds like it will be a good event to go to.

If Anne McCaffery is sick , then that is a good reason to not attend. I would sure hope people would understand , and not be upset or disappointed over it.

I know I would understand , and just wait for the next time , but that's just me :)
