Do you attend conventions?

I attend conventions which meet one of the 2 criteria:

1) Right near where I live (so I can go to them in the day but be at home for the night). Practically speaking this puts the absolute limit somewhere short of Boston and New York, as I live in the Capital District of NY State.

2) Ones which pay for me to be there. (thus far this has been zero, but one can always hope)

I can't afford to travel on my own dime much, and my family would frown on my disappearing for long weekends anyway.

This particular year, alas, I will not be present at Albacon for the first time since I was published, as Kathleen (my wife) is due to have a baby right around that time.
