I'll of course be going to Genericon this year as usual (Genericon: RPI, Troy, NY, January 28-30). I don't know if I'll be an official guest, though, as I wrote to their guest person and haven't heard back yet. I'm sure I'll be able to do SOMETHING though, it's a nice little convention and one of the friendliest I've been at anywhere. If anyone else out there is going to Genericon, look around for me. I'll be there probably signing copies of Mountain Magic if nothing else. :)

The conventions I have gone to are at hotels, so there is no need to leave the building until it is over. I can leave all my stuff in my room, and retreat to it to rest, or drop off purchases. I don't need my coat or boots.

But with typical January weather I may well need my coat and boots, which means extra stuff to lug around. I haven't completely ruled Genericon out, but it would have to be dry weather. And there's no way to know whether we'll have THAT till the last minute.

But... you'd be able to see *ME!* (restrains impulse to use blink tags). What more motivation could you need?

That would be my main motivation for going. But then I could just make a special trip up to see you without a convention, too. :)

True, but given my usual schedule I might not be able to devote two, three days to the visit.

It appears I will be MC'ing the Cosplay. I wonder if I should appear in costume, or confuse people by dressing up.
