Only four stars? (cue author rant of betrayal, tragedy, doom)
I actually saw an author (seriously!) getting mad at someone for posting a four star review. I was sitting there staring with my mouth open, saying "WTF???"
If you had changed your name to Rye, you'd have gotten five stars :^)
That said, I seldom write reviews and never lightly. Phoenix Rising has its flaws (some from its genre roots, some of its own), and I'm not going to give a work five stars unless it's truly spectacular. And I detest that type of public simplified ratings too. But Amazon seemed to require them (though I might be wrong in that).
