Date: 2007-04-29 10:42 pm (UTC)(It sounds like something that ghost-hunters around the world will want to get their hands on at some point, as a next step up from an IR camera. -grin-)

Date: 2007-04-30 01:30 am (UTC)It is..
Date: 2007-05-10 12:12 am (UTC)And yes, it'd be very useful for Bigfoot hunters, etc., who actually want to see if they're finding something real.
Its original main use though is for inspection of houses (for energy audits, etc.) at a cost per unit thousands less than standard IR cameras. (the market version of the device costs less than a single standard 320x240 IR *SENSOR*, let alone the camera that uses the sensor.)

Date: 2007-05-10 12:21 am (UTC)... ah. I know why, too.
It's on the spine. But not on the dust jacket. You'll only see it if you take the dust jacket off; the spine copy for the dust jacket is correct. I suspect that means it's going to be automagically corrected in paperback, since paperbacks usually have the dust jacket AS their cover.
And you can apply as a copy editor, but they tend to outsource, as I remember, and then they send it to the authors to check.
Having done copy editing on my stuff AND on others, I also don't believe there's any book out there that actually has NO misspellings, unless it's a kid's book. Any large novel is too large to allow a small number of people to reach certainty of perfection.
